I have been working with babies for the last 16 years, and was a live-in nanny for twin infants before I became a Doula. I am infant and adult CPR Certified and have previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant working at a hospital for a year. My role is non-medical but I do have a medical background. I also volunteered in the NICU as a nursing volunteer at UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital where I worked with newborn and premature babies. I am trained in infant massage and am in the process of completing my Lactation Education Counselor training, which I hope will be a stepping stone to becoming an IBCLC in the future.

My approach

As your Doula, I will support your family by teaching baby-related skills and emotionally supporting the parents and infant(s) by either doing overnight or daytime care postpartum,, educating during prenatal visits, and/or attending the labor and birth. I also run errands, do light housework, and cooking.

Fees

Postpartum Doula:

For Local Jobs: $60/hour for weekdays or weeknights, $65/hour for weekends, and $80/hour for major holidays (the doula will decide which are considered major holidays)

For Travel Jobs: $60/hour for weekdays or weeknights, $65/hour for weekends, and $80/hour for major holidays (the doula will decide which are considered major holidays), plus travel fees, lodging, food costs (a stipend), and payment during my off hours.

Birth Doula:

For Local Jobs: $500 retainer, $500 paid by the 37th week gestation.

For Travel Jobs: $500 retainer, $500 paid by the 37th week gestation, plus travel fees and lodging, food costs (a stipend), and payment during the on-call period until the birth.

Postpartum Doula:

For Local Jobs: $60/hour for weekdays or weeknights, $65/hour for weekends, and $80/hour for major holidays (the doula will decide which are considered major holidays)

We used Clarissa's services once our little miracle baby came home from the NICU. We were first time parents and I was recovering from horrible pregnancy complications. She was absolutely incredible.
