Postpartum Nighttime Doula

Nighttime Doulas help give moms — and their families — the rest they need to recover from baby's arrival. Doulas also provide education, nonjudgmental support and companionship, and assist with newborn care and family adjustment. Some Doulas may also help with meal preparation and light household tasks.

Postpartum Nighttime Doula

What they do
Postpartum Nighttime Doulas provide overnight care and support for new mothers and their babies.
How they help
They can assist new mothers by taking care of nighttime feedings and soothing, allowing the mother to rest.

I've been working as a professional nanny, house manager and most recently a night time doula in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years. I have experience with kids of all ages from newborns, infants, toddlers to teenagers and more. I consider myself to be a dedicated and responsible nanny/doula who enjoys working with kids by creating a safe, healthy and loving environment where the kids can flourish happily. I am punctual with excellent time management and organization skills. I am pet friendly and comfortable in homes with one.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and an Associated Montessori International teaching credential. I am also an Infant Care Specialist and experienced postpartum doula. I trained as a midwife in Belize where I lived for many years. I was a birth and wellness advocate, childbirth educator, and postpartum doula in my community too. I aim to provide newborns with the building blocks to form strong loving attachments, healthy sleep habits, and a routine that helps both babies and family thrive. When following baby’s cues and establishing a routine around the needs of baby and family, they are all set up for success for years into the future.

I studied at DONA INTERNACIONAL AND DOULA CARIBE INTERNACIONAL becoming the first certified Doula in Colombia. I implemented the first Doulas Volunteer Program in a public hospital, being the first hospital to employ Doulas in my native Colombia. Now based in the Bay Area, I bring my skills as a Perinatal and Postnatal Educator along with her experience in more than 400 births, educating more than 500 couples, and conducting numerous courses for parenthood. I believe that families deserve to be informed, empowered to make birth decisions and that their voices need to be heard and respected. I work comfortably within the hospitals and medical staff, as well as alongside homebirth Midwives.

My journey started when I finished my studies in early childhood education in Brazil and worked with children of all ages including children with emotional and behavioral disorders. 3 years later, I moved to Santa Clara in California, where I had my own sunshine boy. It was when I immersed myself in the world of motherhood, a unique and wonderful felling but also very challenging experience, where I realized the importance of having a Doula to help, and support a mother and family in their pre-birth, delivery and also in the difficulties encountered in the postpartum that's how I decided to specialize in this beautiful profession that is to be a DOULA.

I started my career as an ESL Teacher and as a Recreation Leader for babies and toddlers. From there, I realized how much I loved working with the little ones. I had the opportunity to be a Nursery Assistant taking care of 0-6 babies in a daycare for underprivileged children and it was an amazing experience where I learned a lot about newborns. Since then, I’ve been Specializing in Newborns and in supporting new families.

I’m a birth and postpartum doula as well as newborn night specialist. I’ve been caring for newborns for over 5 years and in the recent two years I’ve decided to become a doula to be able to provide extra support for families as it’s a very crucial time. I’m also a mother to two girls ages 5 and 2 years old. I’m as well currently studying online to become a Registered Nurse specializing in labor and delivery. I practice social distancing and get regular Covid tests and vaccinated.

I grew up in Berkeley, California, and was raised by my lovely single mother, nanny, and grandparents. I always had a deep-rooted love for mamas and babies. As soon as I was old enough to provide childcare, I did, and still do, but now in the form of postpartum support. The summer before my junior year of college, I went through a traumatic hiking accident, which left me concussed and “out of commission” for some time. This experience opened doors of holistic healing for me that I have gladly stepped into and don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. Going through this, I discovered the power of herbalism, acupuncture, energy healing, and many more modalities! With the support of friends, family, healers, doctors and the newfound mindset that “my body has the wisdom to heal itself,” with intentional support, I did heal. I then returned to college to finish my degree in Anthropology, with emphases in Medical and Feminist Anthropology.

Hi! I am a Certified Postpartum Doula and Trained Birth Doula. As a doula, my role is to support and care for a family with or expecting a newborn(s) by teaching baby-related skills (bathing, feeding, breastfeeding, etc.) and emotionally supporting the parents and infant(s). Doula work includes overnight work too where I help care for baby(ies) so parents can rest and recover all while providing education as desired. I also run errands, cook, and do some light housework. Birth doula services consist of my providing prenatal visits, attending the labor/birth, and some postpartum visits, all while providing physical, emotional, and educational support to the birthing person.

Hello My name is Danielle I’m a Bay Area Native, I am a traveling doula that resides in Brooklyn, NY and Oakland, CA. I have been passionate about birth and supporting mothers for years. As soon as I heard the term and definition of what a “Doula” was, I knew this was supposed to be a part of my life’s journey. After doing extensive research on unnecessary interventions, c-section rates, and Black maternal deaths in the U.S., I began to see how needed Doula’s were in the birthing space. I decided to leave my career in sports to pursue my Divine calling as a Birthworker. I am here to help support and hold space for as many birthing people as I can in getting the birth experience THEY want. I am a professionally trained and certified Full Spectrum Doula. I am equipped to support and hold space with births, and postpartum care for the baby/birthing person. My goal is to leave you feeling empowered about your birth. To reclaim and own your body, your life, your experience. We are going to work together but I really want to have you know that the power that you're looking for and the information you are constantly searching for outside of yourself sometimes is already inside you, you know the answers and what feels aligned for you, your body and your baby.
