I first became a postpartum doula even before I had a baby of my own because I became so fascinated with birth and all that women are capable of, but I also saw a great need for more support for new moms. Now that I have a baby of my own, my eyes have been even more opened to all the support new moms need! I gave birth to my first child while living abroad in the Netherlands during the pandemic. No family could come visit me to help. However, thankfully in the Netherlands, a postpartum doula is provided through health insurance for 10 days after birth, 8 hours a day! She was my angel. I'm so excited to be able to pass on the care and knowledge I received from my postpartum doula to more new moms.
